About Kelly Steel
Paul Kelly started up Kelly Steel Fabrication in 1985. In the early years the business was mainly involved in fabrication and maintenance of sand quarry plant in Melbourne’s south-east. The company then went on to manufacture and install a variety of steelwork for the telecommunication rollout and also became involved with numerous of Melbourne’s infrastructure projects.
Citylink was the first main construction project we worked on with boilermakers on site for construction of the coffer dam and the tunnels. Since then we have been steel fabrication sub-contractors for numerous other projects:
- Springvale Rd Rail Separation Project, Nunawading
- Melbourne Main Sewer Replacement
- Dynon Port Rail Link
- Eastern Treatment Plant Stage 2
- South Morang Rail Extension
- Victorian Desalination Project
- Level Crossing Removal Project, amongst others.
Other work has included steelwork for facility upgrades at many Port of Melbourne sites, air compressor skid bases, components for demountable seating used at the Grand Prix & Summernats and structural steelwork for commercial and residential applications.
Whilst Kelly Steel continues to sub-contract for many of the major construction companies, we also fabricate a diverse range of steelwork for clients ranging from supply and cutting of steel to size and shape, to fabrication and erection of fifteen metre towers, and everything in between.
Recently we moved our operations to a new, larger, purpose built factory with a 10T overhead crane. This new facility allows us to take in larger jobs and operate more efficiently and safely.
Paul continues to manage the business and with the benefit of his knowledge and experience, can advise and quote on your job and see it through to successful completion.
